How To Fake Supermodel Cheekbones

With Spring 2015 New York Fashion Week still fresh in our minds, there has been quite a buzz around the beauty and fashion trends seen on the runways. While these trends vary from season to season, one thing that remains the same is the ever-adored and coveted supermodel cheekbones. So what's the best way to recreate this look even if you aren't a regular on the runway? Here's a simple guide on how tofake it ‘til you make it as the next big thing.

Step 1: Start with dewy skinMakeup artists are constantly creating dewy-skin looks on models, which gives a healthy glow and sheen. Mix a little illuminating serum with your foundation or BB cream to give your skin instant radiance.

Step 2: ContourThis is the easiest way to define your cheekbones, but it must be done right. There is nothing worse than contouring that is muddy-looking or is too dark.  Highlighting and contouring can be a tricky undertaking at first, so I’ll let you in on a little trick: Make a fish face in the mirror. Contour where the natural hollow forms in your cheeks. Although the choice between a cream- and powder-based product is totally up to you, I think a natural-looking bronzing powder is a great product to start with. Using light strokes,  apply the product with a blush brush to the hollows of the cheeks until you see definition start to form.
Step 3: Pop the cheeks
Adding a pop of color to the apples of the cheeks will bring the contouring technique full circle, by allowing your cheekbones to stand out more. I love using cream blush on the apples of the cheek as it blends smoothly and leaves a dewier effect, blending well with the concept of tip #1.
