My Box of Style

Hello Beauties! The excitement in my voice in my head as I write this is screaming like a giddy girl! I have ordered only a few subscription boxes to be very disappointed.  Especially some of the beauty ones.  I can get samples all day long at Nordstrom, Macy’s, Dillards, Saks, Sephora. I can go on. And not get charged 10 to 15 bucks. BUT FREE!!! Plus if I buy something and any counter they will throw in more samples of my request or what they have. PLus I am on queue when gift with purchase is out I am there for it. Some of the makeup ones (which again I will not mention) are not the colors or products I like.  I am so picky!  But this came across my feed 4 months ago and I wanted a Spring box badly.  Just was not sure.  Than the Summer came! Oh shit! I need that Komono.  But my doubts drowned me.  So I figured after looking at even past boxes and the prices on these actual products that Zoe pics I knew I need them. (way over 400 bucks) Every one of the boxes I loved. And I decided …

How To Layer Skin Care and DIY Face Oil

WHAT’S IN MY HYDRATING FACIAL OIL: The facial oil recipe that I use is definitely formulated for slightly more mature, drier skin.  The oils absorb easily and are suited for thirsty skin.  I have also added essential oils that have anti-aging and regenerative properties. JOJOBA OIL: I use jojoba oil as the base oil because it closely resembles the natural oils in our skin.  It has anti-inflammatory properties and works great for dry, aging, oily, normal, or acne-prone skin. If jojoba oil doesn’t work for you, another great base oil is argan oil. OLIVE OIL: Good old olive oil is high in oleic acid (a monosaturated fatty acid), making it perfect for drier skin.  It is a heavier oil that dries a bit more slowly.  Just be sure to get a good quality, cold pressed olive oil. If olive oil doesn’t work for you, you can substitute avocado oil, also high in oleic acid. ROSEHIP SEED OIL:Rosehip seed oil is one of my favorite new discoveries.    It is good for dry, aging skin because it is deeply no…

Micellar Water

Micellar water has generated quite the buzz in the world of facecleansers and makeup removers. In fact, this century old cure-all has many people (including myself) has gotten away from the harsh makeup removers and use this as part of their double cleansing method.  This magical water cleanses and moisturizes!  And their is no rinsing required. It is suited for all skin types,

♦   Micellar water is made of micelles, which are tiny oil molecules suspended in soft water that dissolve dirt, sweat, oil and makeup without stripping your skin of its natural moisture barrier.
♦   It is a natural, gentle and soap and alcohol-free option that is ideal for sensitive skin, especially around your eye.  I tend to use it only on my eyes and lips.
♦   In addition to its deep-cleansing properties, it is extremely easy to use on the go since it requires no rinsing. It has been a blessing on my travels. Especially places I have been where you cannot use the water. Ugh!!

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to turn an empty cushion compact into an innovative SPF or sun cushion!

We all know SPF is one of the most important parts of the skin care regimen, and that you should be applying it every single day, rain or shine. However, applying sunscreen once in the morning won’t cut it. In fact, sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours or so. Yes, unfortunately, that means having to reapply before you leave the office for lunch, before you leave to go home, and certainly after you sweat off any SPF that’s clinging on at the end of your after your outdoor run or here in Texas outdoor shopping.

It’s quick, easy to use on the go, and great for even coverage on top of foundation. But, you don’t have to go out and buy a whole new product to get the convenience of an SPF cushion. All you need is an empty cushion compact (any used up foundation cushion will do) and your favorite SPF, and you’re good to go. Read below to discover how to create your own DIY SPF …
