Niacin-Part 2

Image
Niacin – Part 2 By:  Dorine Lam, RD, MS, MPH www.DrLam.com Niacin as a detoxifying agent There are several more methods that can be used for detoxifying yourself from the buildup of toxins in the body, ranging from enemas to fasting and saunas.  Within any method that you choose, the use of niacin can accelerate the detoxification process by rupturing the fat cells (lipolysis) that store the toxins, and thereby releasing them for elimination. This is good news for your locks since vitamin C is an antioxidant that strengthens the hair shaft and hair follicles, as well as prevents breakage. 3. Oysters: Zinc deficiency has been noted to cause hair loss and poor scalp conditions and oysters are loaded with zinc — just three ounces contain 493 percent of your daily value. Photo: ImaxTree Juicing is the healthy craze that just won’t die, and for good reason: While an all-juice diet may not be something we necessarily recommend, adding fruit and vegetable juices to your daily routine is a great way to fit more vitamins and nutrients into your diet than ever before. The other upside, of course, is the physical benefits.  Juicing  is perfect for getting all the ingredients you need to target your most troublesome skin concerns all in one place. Whether you’re breaking out or suffering from signs of premature aging, here’s what you need to drink to get your skin back in shape. For Breakouts Dark, leafy greens are essential for any healthy diet, but they’re particularly useful for fighting  acne , because they’re full of carotenoids and beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A.
