3 No-Heat Hairstyles

3 No-Heat Hairstyles to Try Now

Whether you want to cut down on blow drying, simply don’t have enough time in the morning, or need to go from day to night without stopping at home, being able to style your hair without heat is a great trick to have up your sleeve. Here are three of my favorite no-heat styles to try now.

1. Beach Waves

These loose, textured, just-went-surfing waves are always a favorite luckily, so easy to create!

How to Get the Look

1. On towel-dried hair, apply a leave-in conditioner or serum to help prevent any unwanted frizz. I preferL’OrĂ©al Professionnel Mythic Nourishing Oil because it softens the hair and adds shine, but is also lightweight.
2. Next you want to roughly divide your hair into four sections. If you’re creating this hairstyle in the morning, you can also divide into two sections so you can let your strands style throughout the day.
3. Braid each section all way to the end. The tighter you make the braid the more defined your waves will be. Fasten the end of each braid with a rubber band.
4. Let sit overnight or until dry.
5. After removing each braid, run your fingers through your hair from roots to ends while breaking up the waves and flip your head upside down, gently shaking your hair out.
6. Apply more leave-in or serum if needed and you’ll like you’ve just stepped of the sand.

2. Sexy and Tousled

Natural, fresh and fearless sums up this style, which we have seen on everyone from Gisele Bundchen to Selena Gomez.

How to Get the Look

1. After towel drying your hair, apply a generous amount of mousse (about a palm full) from roots to ends.Kèrastase Mousse Volumactive is my favorite because it doesn’t leave any build up.
2. Part your hair as desired and then section your hair into three sections—two in the front and one in the back.
3. Twist the back section of your hair into a bun on the top of your head. Pin it into place using hairpins, which will prevent any dents that elastics may leave.
4. Take the two front sections and loosely twist them away from the face, pinning them into your bun.
I love this look because at this point you are left with a chic and simple updo that can be worn to work, school or lunch with some friends, giving it time to dry and set.
5. Remove the pins and shake out what you have twisted before you comb through with a wide tooth comb.
6. Finish with spritz of texture spray.

3. The Farrah Feather

There’s no better way to pay homage to the glamorous 70′s than to rock the most iconic style of the era.

How to Get the Look

1. Apply a setting spray such as Matrix Biolage Thermal Active Setting Spray onto towel dried hair and comb it through.
2. Divide your hair into four sections with a center part.
3. Wrap each of the front two sections around your fingers, away from your face creating a roll and pin into place.
4. Do the same with the back two sections rolling them up towards the top of your head.
Pro Tip: for a more voluminous effect wrap each section around a medium sized roller.
5. Spray with a super hold hairspray.
6. After your hair has dried, brush each section in the opposite direction in which you rolled them.
7. One last spritz of hairspray and you’re ready for the disco
