DIET HACK: THE SIMPLE DIET PLAN PROVEN AS EFFECTIVE AS FASTING!

Fasting, obtaining from all for some foods for a period of time, has long been an effective detoxing and weight loss method. It has also been proven to improve focus and cognitive functions.
The idea of going without food and surviving on something like lemon water for a few days can seem daunting. Here is a specially designed diet plan which could help reduce caloric intake, lose weight and reduce your risk of heart disease without going on a full blown fast.
Also you can do this in your feeding window too. I am a IF'r and I find it hard to not fast. So I am trying this out in a 14-16 hour fast. I usually do a 19-24. And zigzag. If you eat Paleo sub out the black bean for a blended veggie. And the bread for a gluten free. Here is my recipe:

Tiffany's VEGETABLE SOUP RECIPE
Serves: 6 to 8
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large leek, finely chopped
  • Unrefined sea salt, to taste (such as Real Salt)
  • 1 fennel bulb, cored and finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 carrots, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 bunch collards (about 4 cups), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil (such as Barlean’s)
  • Juice from 1 whole lemon
  • 1 large can (28 ounces) organic diced tomatoes (or look for BPA-free Pomi Tomatoes in a soft-box)
  • 4 cups organic vegetable broth (such as Pacific Natural Foods)
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat; add the garlic, onion and leek and sauté until onions and leeks are soft, about 3 minutes. Season lightly with salt.
  2. Add the fennel and sauté 2-3 minutes, until it begins to soften. Add the bell pepper and carrots and sauté 2-3 minutes, until soft. Sprinkle vegetables with oregano.
  3. Add the collards and extra virgin coconut oil and sauté until greens are deep green and tender. Add the lemon juice and tomatoes. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Season lightly with salt.
  4. Add the vegetable broth. Simmer soup for 15 minutes over low heat. Serve warm.
Breakfast
One quarter of an avocado between two slices sprouted bread and one hard boiled egg.
Lunch
A salad containing 2 cups lettuce, 3 ounces light tuna, 1 cup cherry tomatoes, 1/3 cup thawed frozen corn, 1 cup sliced cucumber, 1 teaspoon olive oil, and 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar.
Dinner
1 cup frozen spinach mixed with 1 cup black bean soup or my veggie soup.
Snack (1)
1 cup of cherries.
Following this diet strictly for a consecutive 5 days out of the month has been proven to give participants the same mental clarity, detox properties and weight loss aid as intermittent fasting. The participants were able to eat regularly for the rest of the month and still saw results.
The 5 day diet regime has also been shown to reduce inflammation which can be linked to many diseases, including heart disease and certain cancers.
Try it for yourself and share with us your results! Do you practice fasting? What are your thoughts on it?
