Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, like a little heat use hot
  • 2 jars Kraft Old English Cheese Spread 5 ounce each
  • 8 Sourdough English muffins split
  • Parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    • Brown and drain the grease from your breakfast sausage.
    • Mix the sausage with the cheese in a medium bowl and stir.
    • On a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, lay out your split English muffins, nooks and crannies side up.
    • Divide the sausage mixture evenly between all the muffins and spread out.
    • Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.

      • Adding chopped bell peppers, onions, or spinach can amp up the flavor and add extra nutrition. Just slightly cook raw vegetables before mixing them with the sausage and cheese to avoid excess moisture.
      • You can use turkey sausage as a leaner alternative. It is an excellent option if you’re looking to cut down on fat.

      How to Freeze

These muffins freeze beautifully, making them perfect for meal prep. Here are the simple steps:

      1. Lay the muffins in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze them for 2-4 hours.
      2. Once frozen, you can wrap each muffin individually in plastic or foil and place them in a freezer bag. Or put them in individual sandwich bags. They’ll keep well for up to 3 months.
      3. When you’re ready to enjoy a muffin, reheat it in the oven, toaster oven, or air fryer at 350 degrees F until heated through. You can also microwave them, but they will be less crisp.
