Make Chamomile and Sage Astringent
If your face tends to be oily, homemade chamomile and sage astringent might be just the thing to tone, refreshen and revitalize. This natural astringent can dry oily skin without harmful chemicals, leaving your face healthy and glowing.                     



Things You'll Need


  • 2 cups fresh sage
  • 3 tbsp. fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 oz. dried chamomile

Instructions

    • 1
      Put 2 cups of fresh sage, 3 tbsp. of fresh mint and 1/2 oz. of dried chamomile on a cutting board and tap them lightly with the handle of a table knife to release their beneficial oils.

      Place the fresh herbs in a large glass jar and pour in 3/4 cup of witch hazel and 5 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar.

      Allow the herbs to to steep for 7 to 8 days, shaking the jar daily.

      Strain the chamomile and sage astringent, repeating several times if necessary, to remove the herbs. Store the astringent in an airtight container.

      Use your chamomile and sage astringent as you like to clean and tone your face.



Tips & Warnings

  • To strain the herbs from the chamomile and sage astringent more quickly, lay a piece of folded cheesecloth or muslin fabric in the strainer and pour the astringent through. Squeeze the fabric to extract the remaining astringent
