Protect Your Skin From Halloween Makeup by skinwerein

Dia de los muertos makeup

First of all, buy quality makeup. You may be tempted to buy the cheapest makeup you can find at a Halloween superstore because you’re only using it for one night. But look at the ingredients. The cheap kinds are filled with all sorts of ingredients that will clog your pores and can even cause irritations. Look for premium or organic face paints to allow your skin to breathe through the makeup and allow for easy removal.
Halloween is quickly approaching. You may be thinking about costumes, treats, decorating pumpkins and parties. If you plan to decorate your face to go along with your amazing costume, you might be worried about the bad damage it could do to your skin. Here are some tips on keeping your skin healthy even after you do an amazing job with costume makeup for your Halloween costume!
Before you apply, make sure to moisturize your face really well to keep it fresh and hydrated. Also, apply a primer to protect your skin a little more from the heavy makeup. It will create a smooth surface as well to help you get the best look you can.
After the party, no matter how exhausted you may be, always wash off all of the makeup. You don’t want the makeup clogging your pores all night and rubbing off on your pillows! Once you’ve thoroughly removed all of the makeup, apply some moisturizer to help your skin bounce back from the heavy makeup that has been on your skin. Be sure that you don’t scrub your skin too hard when removing the makeup or it will damage or irritate your face. Make-up remover cleansing towelettes are a great start to removing the makeup.
If your costume includes latex foam make-up applications, be sure to use spirit gum for the adhesive and get a kit that includes an adhesive remover to remove at the end of the night. When removing the application, use the remover by putting a little bit at the top edge of the piece. Then slowly peel from the edge, using more remover as you go. Never rip any prosthetic off your skin or you may damage the skin and I promise it will be painful.
