Easy Ways to Transition Your Makeup from Day to Night

We’ve all been there—the birthday shindig/date/girls’ night out invite at the 11th hour. Fret not party rockers, for here are three ways to rev up your daytime beauty look, and make it all kinds of nighttime appropriate.
Accentuate the eyes
One of my favorite ways to go bold is to add eyeliner to my daytime look. For me, a simple swipe of sexy, smudgy kohl on top, and sparkling, accentuating pencil or gel eyeliner on the lower lash line is all it takes to smoke things up and make my eyes stand out in a crowd.

Try: Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion and MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner in Undercurrent
Pop on a bold lip color

Another way to add instant drama is to apply an attention-getting shade on the lips. For this girl, a lacquered cherry red or a deep, sensual burgundy are the lip shades of choice. Both add instant radiance to my face.
Try: L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipcolour 746 Pure Burgundy

Add a bit of sparkle
A great way to touch-up is to add contour and highlight to shape the face into something more angular and sexy. First, grab a matte bronzer and sweep over areas you want to slim, such as in the hollows of the cheeks, down the sides of your nose, and underneath your jaw. Then, grab a sparkling highlighter face powder, and apply it to areas that you want to “pop”—over the apples of your cheeks, beneath your brow bone, and above the cupid’s bow of your lip. Voila, instant angles!

Try: Smashbox Step by Step Contour Kit
