Concealer Mistakes
Whether it’s for addressing blemishes, dark circles or just random age spots, concealer is something we gals utilize on a daily basis. While often the concern of most women is simply to hide imperfections, there are a few things you should know about concealer that could possibly change the way you approach it altogether. Here are some common concealer mistakes you might not even realize you’re making.
1. It's Too Light: There's a lot of talk about how your concealer should be a few shades lighter than yourskin tone , but this is actually not true. Concealer should be as close to your natural skin tone as possible so that it blends properly. If you're using concealer that's too light, you actually will highlight and draw more attention to the issues you're covering such as dark circles, blemishes and everything else. The point is to conceal it, not draw attention to it, you feel me?
2. It's Too Thick: Concealer should be as natural as possible in color, consistency and texture. A common mistake made is thinking that concealer should be thick so that it can cover your skin better. False! Concealer should be a texture in which you can blend, and if it comes off a bit thick, apply a small amount and blend as you go. This will ensure that you get the coverage you need while maintaining a natural, lightweight finish. Try a concealer that will work with your natural coloring like L'Oréal Paris True Match Concealer.
3. You Put It On Before Foundation: Many think they should apply concealer before foundation, but the truth is you should always apply it afterwards. Applying concealer after foundation will allow it to last longer, and deliver better coverage. If you work foundation over it, it will blend out too much and not do its job.. Take my word for it, you won’t be sorry!
