A 3-Step DIY Facial For Radiant Skin

In order to maintain healthy glowing skin, it's necessary to engage in rituals that show your face some tender, loving care. A great way to do so is by booking some time to give yourself an at-home facial to help suck dirt out of your pores and leave you with a firmer, more radiant complexion.
Here's a simple, all-natural, three-step facial that incorporates ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!
Step 1: Cleanse
Although this ritual is best done at night, you can do it any time you've got 20 minutes spare. Start the process with a clean face, using whatever cleanser you like to remove makeup (almond and coconut oil are great for removing makeup naturally). A good cleanser will help you remove dirt, impurities, residual makeup and pore clogging oils that lead to acne.
Remember: you don't need to expose your skin to chemicals to achieve a face that's fresh and clean. Try to avoid cleansers that have chemical ingredients like parabens, emulsifiers and detergents like Diethanolamine (DEA) and Monothanolamine (MEA), Benzaldehyde, Benzyl acetate, Benzyl alcohol, Ethanol, Triclosan, Polyethylene Glycol, Fragrances, and FD&C color pigments.
Step 2: Mask
Bentonite clay can be used on the skin to heal acne, eczema, wounds or insect bites, and can even be ingested to assist with healing anything from heavy metal poisoning to food allergies, viral infections to arthritis, and more. This miraculous clay has been used by indigenous people since the dawn of time, and even animals in the wild have been observed eating the clay or rolling in it to heal wounds.
So how does it work? The clay itself has a negative electrical charge. When it absorbs liquid, it expands and becomes like a porous sponge. Toxins and impurities have a positive charge, so they're drawn to the clay and bound. This makes for an effective home skin treatment that will leave your face incredibly clean. This mask will do wonders and can even be used as on-the-spot treatment to shrink pimples overnight.
Bentonite Clay Mask
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon bentonite clay
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (add more as needed)
Preparation
Spoon the bentonite clay into a small container and add the apple cider vinegar. Mix until thick. Apply the mask to your face immediately and let sit for 5-10 minutes or until dry. Recipe makes enough for two masks. Cover your container with a lid and keep your mixture in the fridge for up to two weeks for future mask applications or on-the-spot treatment.
Step 3: Exfoliate
Your skin might feel a little dry after the clay mask, so exfoliating with this honey scrub is a perfect last step. Honey is a natural antibacterial and moisturizer that has the ability to pull moisture from the air and retain it. The oats and sugar will remove dead skin cells, while lemon is great for toning and anti-aging because of its vitamin C. After you apply your scrub, moisturize with your favorite chemical-free product and bask in your newfound glow.

  • 1 teaspoon rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon organic cane or brown sugar
