How To Grow Ginger

Image
Ginger,it’s a fantastic flowering plant with roots that offer so many benefits in the world of natural living. Instead of buying your ginger roots at your local grocery store, why not grow it in your own back yard? It’s simpler than you think! Here's how you can grow your own ginger outside of the tropics, too: Find a Root Buy a piece of ginger the size of your thumb with several bumpy nodules at the tips — these are the buds. Opt for plump chunks, not those withering in their own skin. Skin on the delicate buds should be thinner and lighter colored; forego pieces with darkened buds. Like potatoes, conventional ginger is irradiated and treated to stop it from sprouting at the supermarket. That means it won’t sprout in your home, either. Choose organic. A DIY Face Mask (no sewing)

Image
Washing your hands, staying at home, and practicing good social distancing are all measures you can take to protect yourself and others from the spread of COVID-19. But now the U.S. is expected to add an additional recommendation to those guidelines:  wearing a face mask . Those other preventative measures, can  help reduce the rate of infection . And you don’t even need a sewing needle. You can simply use a square handkerchief or a piece of fabric: Studies have shown that cotton is the  most effective household material  for catching microbes. To secure it, use two hair ties. If you don’t have those or they feel too tight on your ears, you can also cut the top of a pair of socks to create two soft, stretchy loops. Here’s how to assemble the mask step-by-step—I followed the instructions from the blog  Japanese Creations : Lay the handkerchief, bandana, or piece of fabric flat. Fold the bottom inward, then the top. Flip it over. Fold the bottom in aga...

Bee pollen is a ball of pollen made by young bees when they land on a flower. It’s a mixture of pollen, saliva, and nectar or honey. Bees carry these balls back to the hive in sacs on their legs and store them in the hive’s honeycomb. The pollen then ferments into “bee bread,” which feeds a bee colony. Beekeepers collect pollen from bees by keeping a thick comb in the entrance of their hives. When bees pass through it, it knocks the pollen off their legs into a collection bin below. The bees then must go out to collect more pollen. Nutrition facts Bee pollen in...
