More on Dry Brushing
We’ve tried the latest organic skin treatments and enough lotions and potions to make your head spin but nothing quite compares to our new-found habit of dry brushing, a method of stimulating the skin using a handheld, stiff-bristled brush or mitt to improve circulation and the general appearance of the skin.
- What is it? It's a self-care technique that, aside from being one of the best ways to brighten and detoxify the skin while diminishing the appearance of cellulite, it's also cost effective and relaxing.
- What does it do? The bristles of the brush work to stimulate below the surface of the skin to get the blood flowing and the lymphatic system pumping, promoting circulation and breaking down fat pockets.
- How to try it? With the brush or mitt of your choice, start at your feet and make upward long sweeping movements along your legs, thighs, butt, abdomen, arms, shoulders, chest and back—make sure to go towards the heart. The whole process takes two to three minutes. Do it daily before showering for the best results.
