How to Get Rid Your Post-Halloween Makeup
When it comes to painting on a Halloween-worthy face, while you might use some quality glitter, lipstick and eyeliner, covering your entire face in color typically relies on costume makeup. Party store makeup is similar to that of costume makeup or face paint, which can unfortunately clog pores. In addition to making your skin susceptible to breakouts, party store Halloween makeup can be heavy, which might make it harder for your skin to breathe — and even harder to remove once the night is over.
Ridding your face of Halloween makeup involves a couple of steps that go beyond the simple makeup-remover-one-and-done. Just like I recommend double-cleansing when wearing a full face of traditional makeup, the same is true for your cat, witch, zombie, etc, makeup post-Halloween.
The Best Cleansers to Remove Halloween Makeup
Wipe away mascara, eyeliner, long-wear foundation, and liquid lipstick with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-In-1 Waterproof. Even waterproof products are no match for it! The no-rinse formula removes dirt, oil and makeup and refreshes your skin, sans harsh rubbing or over-drying. I find using this or a DIY cleansing oil is my first step in removing hard makeup or Halloween makeup. Tried and true.
It’s hard for an eye-makeup remover to gain a cult following but this one has. It’s sensitive enough for using on easily-irritated skin and eyes yet still removes long-wear, stubborn eye makeup. It’s formulated to leave skin feeling soft and clean without any greasy residue left behind. I have been using this product to remove stubborn eye makeup for over 20 years.
Three of my favorite makeup removers and cleanser. It is important to take off every bit of makeup on Halloween or everyday you wear makeup. And give your skin a break at least once a week from wearing any makeup. You have got to let your skin breath.
